Every Day is Halloween

For my good friend and new blogger Ainse. We used to dance to this song when we were young girls trying to drink cooking wine in the Go Station bathroom (don't try this...it's nasty and salty)

Well I live with snakes and lizards
and other things that go bump in the night
cos to me everyday is halloween
I have given up hiding and started to fight
I have started to fight

well any time, any place, anywhere that I go
all the people seem to stop and stare
they say 'why are you dressed like it's halloween?
you look so absurd, you look so obscene

'o, why can't I live a life for me?
why should I take the abuse that's served?
why can't they see they're just like me
it's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world

well I let their teeny minds think
that they're dealing with someone who is over the brink
and I dress this way just to keep them at bay
cos halloween is everyday
it's everyday

o, why can't I live a life for me?
why should I take the abuse that's served?
why can't they see they're just like me
it's the same, it's the same in the whole wide world

o, why can't I live a life for me?
why should I take the abuse that's served?
why can't they see they're just like me
i'm not the one that's so absurd

why hide it?
why fight it?
hurt feelings
best to stop feeling
hurt from denials, reprisals
it's the same it's the same in the whole wide world

If you've never listened to this song you should, it's by Ministry, and it's awesome.

You rock, my friend! And if I recall correctly, didn't you dump the cooking wine into a mailbox? Like getting a bill doesn't stink enough...imagine receiving your soggy Visa statement with THAT odour. Gag. But still funny.

I've never heard the song (that I know of), but I love love love Halloween.
I'll just take it on faith that the melody is good. Any song that celebrates freakiness and Halloween all at once is good in my book.

I think it was a garbage can, but it may have been a mailbox...had to hide the evidence!

I can't think of the tune. This is going to drive me crazy. Now I'm going to end up buying a used Ministry CD off Amazon just to hear the damned song. ARGH! I hope it's cool.

OMG, this is one of my favorite tunes from 'back in the day' when I used to go to the alternative clubs with my fake ID. ;-)
