This is my attempt at poetry that sounds like Rosie's.
Monday is warm
on the skin
of my face
The face of a child
the mind of an old woman
Still
Still is the sound of the world
that I feel in my bones
As I shake like a leaf
Contradictions like those
That were once just memories
Memories of more
And when I think of the time
How it spins and weaves it's way
Through the hourglass
I feel peace
peace of mind and peace of sole (as in the fish)
How did I do? :)

It is like you have looked into my heart. Except for the sole part...I prefer Mrs. Pauls halibut fish sticks. :)
It's good I know, but I think it might need some umlauts to spice it up a bit. You know, some flare.

i think you did better than Rosie... your poem actually makes SENSE! Hers are more abstract and random. I don't get her. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way...?
In sixth grade, I wrote a Haiku and won the class prize:
In my penny goes
Out comes a big red gumball-
It drops to the floor.
Interestingly, the aforementioned prose turned out to be pretty much the theme for the rest of my life.

Heather - One person's "moody tripe is another person's Shakespeare.
Robin - I think "peace in my sole (as in fish)" should maybe be dropped in order for it to make sense.
And Jeff again - I've always wanted to be a fishergirl (see 50 things) so maybe "Peace in my sole" does make sense! That's it...I am SO buying a boat.
Not a big Rosie fan so I'm not sure how your prose relates to her work, BUT "peace in my sole" is by far one of the wittier, wackier things I've read in awhile... Do you ever read something and have it stick in your head for weeks on end? Well this will stick, and I will curse and bless you all at the same time.

BTW...WTF is up with Rosie. I think she is just too busy to use puncuation. Fame does strange things to people. Hey Robin, if I ever get that famous, would you kick me in the butt if i ever stop using my spellcheck?
Oh for sure...but kicking is my favourite thing to do besides sucking the coating off a Mars bar.
