American Idol

Why oh why won't the producers tell these contestants to stop waving their fingers and silently mouthing the number to vote for them?!!? We see the effing number on the screen in big bold print, we hear Ryan Seacrest repeat the number TWICE. We do not need to see them wave their fingers with pleading puppy dog looks on their faces every week. It's enough to make me puke.

I have never been able to get into American Idol, not sure why. Canadian Idol however is a whole different story. I am ready, bring it on! LOL

I think it was cool the FIRST season..I watched a whole two episodes of it, but it has really lost it's oomph. But don't all those shows suck after the first season?

I agree. I am not a big fan of reality shows (though I used to be), but usually they are good the first season because they are different. After that, they suck!

Come on Robin baby...the whole show is enough to make you puke. Seriously, I actually watched AN ENTIRE show last night with some friends (for the first time.) I loved the part where Simon told the "rocker" that there were hundreds of bar bands out there that were as good as him! (I agreed) xo

i agree with you 100%. i never am home but tonight i was and i watched pretty nasty singers. at the end, miss aloha was waving her fingers. for that i didn't vote for her. hell, i didn't vote at all. was too lazy to write down the numbers.

My flatmates watch American Idol for hours... and hours.... and hours as it seems there's one digital channel in the UK which plays all the episodes back to back on Sunday nights. I usually go to the pub :)

Coming to this late, but . . . I SO wonder the same thing about the fingers. It drives me a little nuts. Glad I am not the only one.

I've been scarily into American Idol this season. I was never into it before, but for some reason I've been watching it lately.

As for the finger thing, I bet one person did it once, not knowing what to do while standing there, and then other people subsequently did it just to copy that first person and look cool. Or maybe the directors want them to do that for some reason. Who knows, they probably have a website where you can say that on some message board if it really bothers you that much.
