You know when you get really upset or stressed? Well, sometimes it can suppress your immune system. And sometimes when your immune system is suppressed due to the above mentioned stress, your body can reactivate the chicken pox virus, and you get a big, red, really sore rash (shingles). And sometimes even though you are not contagious to the general population, you work with a pregnant woman, which isn't a problem unless she hasn't had chicken pox herself. So sometimes, you have to stay home from work for an indefinite period of time because she hasn't.
I'll let you know how my afternoon goes, gotta be better than the morning.
Oh no! And I thought I was having a rough day! (I'm on my way home, sick...) Get better soon, Robin!
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin, that's sweet! You feel better too.
ReplyDeleteHey Robin,
ReplyDeleteJust found out....i hope you get better....jeez that was kind of scary - I thought it was just a spider bite or something....weird...anyways get well soon....
Brett
yeah my neighbour has the same shit happen to her when she's really freakin about something.
ReplyDeletelady, i hope you are feeling better...
calm...calm...calm...
i usually just soak in my tub, cry, talk to friends (if they still want to listen), or write my heart out on my stinky blog. i find that i can make myself physically ill, and make myself have flu-like symptoms if i am really stressed out. but the shingles...that SUCKS.
feel better! think about how work is something that sometimes you just can't control, no matter how hard you want to. lots of the time it SUCKS.
(advice coming from a current e.i. rider...lol).
Thanks Brett.
ReplyDeleteand
Thank-you Heather...it's really painful right now, but I am going to take some drugs and try and enjoy my time off by relaxing, taking some pictures and visiting friends of mine who are off work.
Take care, Robin [the picture taking sounds as a good idea ;-) ]
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! For me it's hives and let me tell you, I've had them every morning now for about two weeks!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear what your going through. Geez! I didn't even know that could happen. You take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteShame hon. Hope you feel better. If they lay you off for the rest of the week, you can make sure that everyone you know brings you hot chicken soup/can do catalogue shopping/watch loads of DVDs.
ReplyDeleteBut get better soon!
I've heard that shingles is extremely painful. I'm SOOO sorry! I hope you rest well and feel better soon!
ReplyDelete-Yet another Robin
Ooh. shingles. I still have shingles scars... You can't see them normally, but they won't tan. And if I get hot my skin turns red and sweaty EXCEPT for the shingles parts. it's odd. they were hell.
ReplyDeleteYeah last night I was in SO SO SO much pain, but Advil helps for a while, just have to keep it in my system continuously I guess. Thanks for all of your well wishes.
ReplyDeletei like the new picture...it's hawt.
ReplyDeletefor posting my pics i just use a free bit of web space from geocities.com...it's pretty easy to figure out...and you don't have to "build a webpage" or anything to post pics from.
hope you are feeling better!
