Today at work there was a bomb threat. A BOMB THREAT.

This guy comes in our office and says "you need to leave the building there has been a bomb threat." I start to feel a little woozy and ask him if we should take the stairs. He says yes. Then he asks if I'm okay because I guess I looked a little pale. I say "yeah, you just don't think you are going to hear those words for real."

So I fly down the stairs and out of the building.

I had to sit in my car for a few minutes before I drove away because I was crying and shaking too much to drive.

Totally bizarre.

Apparently it was a prank. I'd say it doesn't get prankier than that.

  2. That is so scary. Sorry you were so shaken.

When I worked at MOS in Boston we had a bomb threat once - it was terrible. Evacuating the building and getting everyone on the other side of the Charles still amazes me.

A prank?? Just so sick and wrong!!

  3. I've had to deal with that once myself. It's a scary, helpless feeling. Glad to hear that nothing happened. Don't let a jackass prank like this take away your sense of security!

  5. Not to make light of your situation, but that's the difference between guys and girls. Girls cry, and guys go get beer, cause hey, free afternoon!

  9. That is so scary! We've had a threat at school and I've had to be in "lockdown" with my students...scared shitless, but putting on a brave face. Not high on my list of fun things to do. Glad your okay!

I remember once there was a bomb threat at my workplace. But we'd been hoaxed before, so they gave us the option of whether to stay or go.
Most people left, but I said 'fuck that!' I hate this company, but when I leave, I'll leave when I decide, not because some asshole is trying to scare me into it.
And, as luck would have it, the bomb went off while I went for coffee. Kidding!

  12. Wow, that sucks, especially on a Monday. They normally suck for no reason at all! If you need a wine buddy or a chocolate buddy you know my address!

  14. Pranks can be fun, but when people pull pranks like this that's totally uncool.

Glad it was just a prank though.

  18. I thought the bomb threat bs was old and done with. Where's the line in humour between innocent and out of the question? *hugs*

  19. i'm sorry that you got so shaken (not stirred) - but what if it wasn't a prank, and you were seen fleeing from the scene, so you were a suspect and on america's most wanted. your life would be so much different - a woman on the run!

  20. Yeah, now that I think about it, bomb threats are pretty silly because if someone were going to blow a place up they just would, they wouldn't call to tell you before it happened.

Now I'll be a seasoned bomb girl like some of you.

  26. So wrong!

This happened to me too. Two weeks after 9/11! I too cried as I drove home shaking...then I passed the mall. And I said "Hell, I can go shopping now".

Bring on the bombs threats, you know what I'm saying? LOL

    Glad you're alright. ;)

Whoever did it needs to have their ass beaten. Hard. With a splintery plank of hardwood.
