I love those kinds of friends! It's like, BAM!, and then you're best friends. That's how my current best friend and I are, and we haven't yet grown tired of each other (knock on wood!). Usually, I'll be friends with someone like that, and we wind up spending SO MUCH time together that I wind up getting sick of her after a relatively short time. It's like going through boyfriends, but with girls...
